On this corner is the Anchor Mart. Go ACROSS 495 straight, onto Mellinger Road. Follow Mellinger Road for almost a mile until you reach a junction with the first paved road coming in sharply from the left. Take this paved left turn (Spring Lick Road - sign maybe missing?) and follow all the way down the mountain to the intersection with the Savage River Road, 4+ miles. Windy and narrow in spots.

At the stop sign and Spring Lick Road junction with Savage River Road - bear right onto Savage River Road and follow for one mile until you come to a chain link fence surrounding a weather station on your left. If you come to the dam you went a little to far. Take the immediate hairpin left turn into the drive just past and at the end of the fence. Cars with low clearance can park along the road up top, or park in the first spaces immedately on the left after turning. Suv's and trucks can take the semi rough drivway down a little further to the put in.
